Salary: £40,000+ gross per annum for live-in, depending on experience
Hours: Monday–Friday, with approximately 7:15–9:00am and 3:00–6:30pm childcare during term time and 7.15am-6.30pm during holidays
Live-in preferred but live-out considered

A warm French-English family living opposite Clapham Common is looking for an experienced, kind and organised nanny to become a trusted, long-term member of our household.

We have three happy children: two boys aged 10 and 7, and a little girl aged 3.5. The boys attend Wix in Clapham in the bilingual stream, while our daughter attends a French nursery.

During term time, the core childcare hours are approximately 7:15–9:00am and 3:00–6:30pm. When the children are at school and nursery, the nanny will have time for light household duties, children’s laundry and wardrobe organisation, occasional errands and preparing the evening meal. These duties are expected to be relatively light and manageable within the school day.

During school holidays, the nanny will provide more extensive sole-charge care and will have considerable freedom to plan activities and outings for the children. The family also regularly spends time at our country house in northern France and takes European holidays, with opportunities for the nanny to travel with us.

We are looking for someone who is:

* Calm, warm, kind and genuinely passionate about working with children
* Organised, reliable and a good communicator
* Confident caring for three children in sole charge
* A safe and confident driver – a family car is provided
* Comfortable preparing healthy, well-balanced family meals
* Happy to take initiative and plan activities independently
* Interested in children’s development and able to handle minor behavioural challenges positively
* Looking for a long-term position of at least two years

A good knowledge of French and an appreciation of French culture and food would be a particular advantage, although not essential.

The family has a part-time cleaner and both parents are working professionals. We have an open and supportive relationship with our nanny and want her to feel trusted, empowered and genuinely part of the family.

Live-in accommodation

For a live-in nanny, we offer a large, sunny double bedroom with private en-suite bathroom and a separate kitchenette, providing a comfortable degree of privacy. The accommodation is within our recently renovated family home.
