Summary

We are looking for two Solicitors to join our in-house legal team at M&S, focusing on our Property portfolio.

These roles will provide specialist real estate legal advice covering everything from property acquisitions and disposals to lease renewal and litigation.

To stay close to customers, our support teams are in the office three days a week as we believe that skills are developed through collaboration, and that spending time together makes us more creative and connected.

What you’ll do

Your key accountabilities will include

  • Carry out title investigations, searches and deduction of title reporting direct to instructing surveyor
  • Prepare and negotiate agreements for lease and leases on the acquisitions and more generally management of properties
  • To provide and where necessary seek specialist legal advice such as tax, construction, planning, energy, environmental law
  • Work in a high pressure, fast-paced environment with a high volume of work
  • Assist with the management of external legal resource and other related resource and specialists (UK and International)

Who you are

Your skills and experience will include

  • Qualified Solicitor/Barrister (3+ years PQE) with proven history and experience of real estate and general knowledge of property litigation, construction, planning, environmental law
  • Knowledge and expertise in real estate
  • Ability to develop strong relationships across a business
  • Good communicating and influencing skills across the business
  • Strong expertise in analysing commercial arrangements
