The Role – Psychology Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
- Full-time, long-term role starting September
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with complex needs
- Assist with communication, emotional regulation, and daily routines
- Collaborate with SEN teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver personalised support plans
- Contribute to classroom management and create a positive, engaging learning environment
- Gain exposure to therapeutic approaches, intervention strategies, and EHCP processes
Person Specification
- Minimum 2:1 degree in Psychology (or related subject)
- Previous experience supporting young people with SEN (school, youth work, tutoring, care) is desirable
- Empathetic, patient, and resilient with a calm, confident approach
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A genuine passion for SEN education and mental health support
