About the Role
The School Receptionist will manage the school’s reception area, provide administrative support to staff, and help ensure the smooth running of daily school operations. This role is key in creating a positive first impression and maintaining effective communication across the school.
Key responsibilities include:
Greeting visitors, staff, and students professionally and welcomingly.
Managing visitor sign-ins, safeguarding procedures, and security checks.
Answering telephone calls, responding to emails, and directing queries appropriately.
Assisting with preparation and distribution of school communications.
Supporting administrative duties for school staff and senior leadership as required.
Maintaining a tidy, organised, and welcoming reception area.
Handling incoming and outgoing post and deliveries efficiently.
Supporting school events, appointments, and scheduling when necessary.
Ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies and confidentiality standards.
Candidate Requirements
Previous experience in reception, customer service, or administration.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Organised, professional, and proactive.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic office management systems.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Professional and courteous manner, with a focus on excellent customer service.
Experience within a school environment is highly desirable but not essential.
