SEN Teaching Assistant - Newham
Location: Newham Pay: £90 - £105 per day Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-time, Long-term Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM Are you passionate about making a lasting impact on the lives of children with special educational needs (SEN)? A welcoming and high-achieving primary school in Newham is seeking a compassionate and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who need emotional and behavioural support, and to become a valued part of a nurturing school community. Your Role as a SEN Teaching Assistant: Provide tailored 1:1 and group support for children with SEMH , ADHD , and self-harming behaviours Assist pupils with their learning across Key Stages 1 and 2 Create a calm, positive, and inclusive classroom environment Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual support plans Foster strong relationships with pupils, promoting their confidence and independence Support with personal care needs, including nappy changing where required ✅ What We're Looking From a SEN TA: Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly SEMH or behavioural needs Comfortable with personal care duties A patient, calm, and encouraging approach to learning A strong team player who can follow guidance and use initiative A genuine passion for supporting children's development A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection Why Join This School in Newham?
