Employee Relations and Policy Manager

Trust In SODA
Hammersmith, Greater London
Employment Type: Permanent role
Salary: £70,000 per annum bonus
Location: Hybrid working – Hammersmith, London

We are looking for an experienced Employee Relations Manager to take ownership of a high-impact ER function within a fast-paced and operationally complex business.

You will be the go-to expert for complex casework, the calm and credible voice in difficult situations, and a key partner to leaders navigating people challenges at scale.

Reporting to the Head of HR, you will lead on complex employee relations matters, shape how ER is delivered across the business, and play a critical role in supporting organisational change. You will also lead and develop a small team, ensuring consistency, quality, and confidence in how ER is handled across the organisation.

If you thrive in high-volume, blue-collar, multi-site environments where no two days are the same, this role offers real ownership, visibility, and influence.

Responsibilities:

Own and lead the full lifecycle of complex ER cases including disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence, and related formal processes
Act as a trusted advisor to managers and senior leaders, providing clear, confident, and commercially sound guidance
Manage high-volume ER activity within a fast-paced operational workforce environment where pace and accuracy are critical
Lead organisational change programmes including restructures, redundancy consultations, TUPE transfers, and senior exits
Identify, assess, and manage ER risk, ensuring fairness, consistency, and compliance in all outcomes
Develop, review, and implement HR policies that are practical, compliant, and fit for a dynamic business environment
Lead ER projects and continuous improvement initiatives that improve consistency and efficiency across the function
Coach and influence managers to build confidence and capability in handling employee relations matters
Ensure outcomes are fair, consistent, and commercially balanced, supporting both employees and business performance

Requirements:

Degree qualified and or CIPD qualified or equivalent experience
Proven experience managing complex, high-volume employee relations casework in a multi-site or operational environment
Strong background in blue-collar, shift-based, or operational workforces is highly desirable
Experience within telecommunications, ISP, broadband, utilities, logistics, or similar environments is a strong advantage
Confident leading organisational change including redundancy consultations and TUPE
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and manage sensitive conversations
Experience in drafting, reviewing, and implementing HR policies in a practical, business-focused way
Calm under pressure, commercially minded, and highly pragmatic in decision making
