Quality Coordinator

Starting Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday | 9:00am - 5:30pm | Site-based | London

A well-established food manufacturing business is looking to appoint a Quality Coordinator to join its Technical and Quality team.

Supplying delicious products into major UK retailers, the business operates within a fast-paced manufacturing environment and has recently achieved a BRCGS AA* result, reflecting the high standards already embedded across the site.

This is a varied and hands-on systems role where you'll take responsibility for maintaining, improving and implementing key elements of the site's Quality and Food Safety Management Systems. From traceability, raw material and allergen risk assessments through to supplier approval, complaints, auditing and laboratory sampling, you'll have exposure across a broad technical remit.

You'll work closely with teams across the operation, using your attention to detail, analytical approach and technical knowledge to ensure systems remain robust, accurate and audit-ready, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

What You'll Be Doing

• Maintain and continuously improve the site's Quality and Food Safety Management Systems

• Manage document control, ensuring technical documentation and records remain accurate and up to date

• Review and maintain raw material, allergen, traceability and microbiological risk assessments

• Manage raw material and supplier approval reviews, ensuring specifications and supporting documentation remain current

• Coordinate laboratory sampling and product testing schedules, reviewing results and escalating where required

• Carry out traceability and mass balance exercises, following through on actions and identified issues

• Manage non-conformances and customer complaint investigations, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions

• Generate and review quality KPIs, identifying trends and communicating performance across the operation

• Conduct internal audits and support external and customer audits

• Support HACCP, VACCP and NPD activities and meetings as required

• Train factory teams on relevant technical standards and requirements

• Work with colleagues across the business to deliver continuous improvement projects

Your Background

• At least three years' experience within food manufacturing, ideally within a Quality, Technical, Food Safety or similar role

• Previous exposure to Quality Management Systems within a manufacturing environment

• Food Safety Level 3 qualification or training

• Good understanding of traceability, auditing, non-conformances and corrective actions

• Experience working with technical documentation, specifications, risk assessments or supplier approval would be advantageous

• Strong analytical and investigative skills with the confidence to get to the root cause of issues

• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical, accurate approach to your work

• Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement

• Confident communication and influencing skills with the ability to work effectively across different departments
