School DT Technician
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Design & Technology Technician to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to support our thriving DT department and play a vital role in helping students develop their practical and creative skills. Responsibilities include: Preparing materials, tools and equipment for lessons and workshops. Maintaining, cleaning, and organising machinery, tools and classrooms. Supporting teaching staff in the delivery of DT lessons, including woodwork, metalwork, graphics, and resistant materials. Ensuring a safe learning environment by adhering to health and safety regulations. Assisting students with practical tasks under teacher supervision. Managing stock, ordering supplies, and keeping accurate records. The ideal candidate will have: Practical skills and experience working with hand tools, machinery, and workshop equipment. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Good communication skills and the ability to support both staff and students. A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. Previous experience in a similar school-based or workshop technician role is desirable, but training can be provided.
