Administrative Assistant - Deptford
We are seeking a professional, organised, and proactive Administrative Assistant to join a busy primary school in Deptford, starting as soon as possible. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a school environment, supporting staff, pupils, and parents, and ensuring the smooth running of the school office.

The Role
As an Administrative Assistant, you will provide vital support across the school, assisting with day-to-day administrative tasks, communication, and office management. You will act as a key point of contact for parents, staff, and visitors, ensuring a professional and friendly service. Accuracy, discretion, and excellent organisational skills are essential.
You will be responsible for maintaining records, coordinating correspondence, assisting with meetings and events, and supporting staff with a range of administrative tasks. Your work will contribute directly to the smooth operation of the school and the positive experience of pupils, staff, and families.
Key Responsibilities
Provide general administrative support across the school office
Act as the first point of contact for parents, staff, and visitors
Manage phone calls, emails, and correspondence efficiently
Maintain accurate pupil and staff records, including attendance and admissions
Assist with organising meetings, events, and school communications
Support senior leadership with administrative and organisational tasks
Prepare reports, letters, and documentation for school purposes
Ensure confidentiality and data protection compliance
Support colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Have previous experience in school administration or a similar administrative role
Be highly organised, professional, and proactive
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
Be able to manage multiple tasks efficiently and accurately
Be friendly, approachable, and able to work effectively as part of a team
Show a strong commitment to safeguarding and supporting a school environment
