Science Technician – High-Performing Secondary School – Ealing (West London)

We are seeking a skilled, organised and enthusiastic Science Technician to join a high-performing secondary school in Ealing. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong interest in science and practical work to support a successful and well-resourced science department.
The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing and maintaining equipment for practical science lessons, ensuring that all experiments are set up safely and efficiently. You will work closely with teaching staff to support the delivery of engaging and effective lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
This role requires someone who is methodical, reliable and able to work both independently and as part of a team. You will need to have a good understanding of laboratory procedures, health and safety requirements and the organisation of scientific resources.
As Science Technician, you will be responsible for preparing materials, maintaining equipment, managing stock and ensuring that laboratories are safe, clean and fully operational. You will also support teachers during practical sessions and contribute to the smooth running of the department.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical lessons
• Maintain and organise laboratory resources and stock
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Support teachers during practical experiments
• Clean and store equipment after use
• Assist with ordering and inventory management
Requirements:
• Background or experience in a science-related field
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety standards
• Strong organisational and practical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• Experience in a school setting (desirable)
