We're always looking for exceptional Roblox VFX artists who could be a strong fit for Cinnamon, either now or as future projects and priorities develop.

This is an ongoing talent pipeline rather than an urgent vacancy. We are not hiring to fill an immediate gap, but if we find someone genuinely exceptional and there is a strong fit, we are always open to moving quickly.

The Role

You'll create visual effects experienced by millions of Roblox players.

From combat and abilities to rewards, progression, vehicles, world events and moment-to-moment feedback, your work will directly influence how our games look and feel.

You'll work directly with programmers, designers, artists and founders. On a small team, your work doesn't disappear into a pipeline. It ships. Players see it. It matters.

This pipeline is specifically for VFX artists with hands-on experience working in Roblox Studio.

What You'll Do

• Create high-quality VFX for Roblox games

• Build and implement effects for combat, abilities, interactions, rewards, progression and gameplay systems

• Create environmental and atmospheric effects

• Create impactful moment-to-moment player feedback

• Work with Roblox particles, beams, trails, attachments, lighting, textures, meshes and other relevant systems

• Create supporting assets using tools such as Blender, Photoshop or equivalent software where needed

• Implement and test your effects in Roblox Studio

• Work closely with programmers, designers and other artists

• Optimise effects for performance across large-scale live games

• Take ownership of effects from concept through implementation

• Contribute ideas that improve game feel, readability and player experience

What We're Looking For

• Strong experience creating VFX for Roblox

• Strong hands-on Roblox Studio experience

• A portfolio demonstrating high-quality Roblox VFX work

• Strong understanding of Roblox particle, beam, trail, lighting and effects systems

• Strong understanding of timing, motion, colour, shape and visual hierarchy

• Ability to create effects that are impactful without becoming visually noisy

• Strong understanding of optimisation and performance

• Ability to work independently and take ownership

• Strong communication skills

Experience working on successful live Roblox games is highly desirable.

You may use external tools such as Blender, Photoshop or equivalent software as part of your workflow, but your experience must include creating and implementing VFX for Roblox.

We are not looking for artists whose experience is primarily in Unreal Engine, Unity or other non-Roblox engines without meaningful Roblox Studio experience.

Artistic Judgement Matters

Technical skill is important.

Artistic judgement is what separates good VFX artists from great ones.

A technically complicated effect is not automatically a good effect.

The best VFX communicate something instantly. They tell the player what happened, how important it was and how they should feel about it.

Timing, anticipation, impact, readability, colour, shape language, motion and restraint all matter.

We care about effects that make gameplay feel better, not effects that simply add more particles to the screen.

A great hit should feel satisfying.

A powerful ability should feel powerful.

A reward should feel rewarding.

A rare event should feel different from an ordinary one.

We're looking for artists who understand the difference.

In many cases, creating the right effect requires less complexity and better judgement.

Game Feel Matters

VFX at Cinnamon isn't decoration added at the end of development.

It's part of the game design.

Effects need to work with animation, sound, UI and gameplay to create a coherent experience.

We're particularly interested in artists who think about why an effect exists, what information it communicates and how it contributes to the player's emotional response.

We want someone who can look at a mechanic that technically works and understand what needs to change to make it feel genuinely satisfying.

Location and Working Arrangement

We are open to:

• Permanent employees who are already based in the UK and have the right to work here

• Remote contractors based anywhere in the world

We do not provide visa sponsorship.
