Finance Manager

Finance Manager – 6 month contract – Up to GBP70k – London

We are partnering with a growing financial services and technology business that provides integrated operational, risk, treasury and regulatory reporting solutions to investment managers and financial institutions.

With an established international presence and strong institutional backing, the business is looking to appoint a Finance Manager to support its Financial Controller and play a central role across financial reporting, month–end and finance operations.

The role

This is a broad, hands–on position offering exposure across financial and management accounting, statutory reporting, audit, transactional finance and process improvement.

You will take ownership of core finance activities while working closely with the Financial Controller and stakeholders across the wider business.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the month–end process, including balance–sheet and intercompany reconciliations.
• Manage the accounts receivable function, including invoice preparation, and oversee accounts payable.
• Support the preparation of management reporting and relevant financial metrics.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and supporting disclosures.
• Play a key role in the annual statutory audit, coordinating information and responding to auditor queries.
• Support external advisers with corporate tax and wider compliance requirements.
• Monitor accounting and regulatory developments affecting the business.
• Review and improve existing finance processes, controls and documentation.
• Support the Financial Controller with projects and other ad hoc requirements.
• Provide guidance and training to other members of the finance team.

About you

You will be a qualified accountant with strong technical accounting knowledge and the confidence to take ownership of a broad workload.

• An ACA, ACCA, AAT or equivalent accounting qualification.
• Practical month–end and year–end accounting experience.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts under FRS 102.
• A strong understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Experience working with external auditors or within an audit environment.
• Strong balance–sheet reconciliation and financial–control experience.
• Good Excel skills and experience using accounting systems.
• A proactive, detail–focused and process–driven approach.
• The ability to identify problems, propose solutions and see tasks through to completion.

Experience within financial services, investment management or another regulated environment would be advantageous. NetSuite and CaseWare experience would also be beneficial but are not essential.
