Nanny

This is a live-in nanny role. The family are looking for a kind, fun and energetic nanny – ideally Italian speaking, who would like a long term, sole charge position looking after 2 children; G7 and baby boy who will be 12 months in January. The Oldest is in full time school, and the nanny will have sole charge of the baby all day and of both of the children outside of school hours and during the school holidays (although the family tends to travel most school holidays and the nanny is not required to accompany the family)

The suitable candidate will have experience working with babies, toddlers and school age children. The right fit is someone who has a genuine love for children and who can help them reach their developmental milestones in a fun, engaging way.

The nanny should be a self-starter who can take initiative, someone who loves being outdoors, someone energetic, and has ability to be lots of fun but also understands safety is paramount. Someone who can support the baby with his development through fun and engaging activities and support the oldest with her homework, reading and be a well-rounded role model to her and be both interested and interesting encouraging conversation.

It is important for the nanny to have clear communication skills as well as a calm and positive attitude, and who can be both caring and firm. The nanny should be outgoing and enjoy taking the baby to classes, including music, swimming, and organising play dates for the children.

We are looking for someone who enjoys cooking a wide variety of fresh, healthy meals and will be happy to cook bigger portions so busy parents can enjoy some of the food too! The right candidate needs to be organised with ensuring school bags are packed and manage the children’s wardrobes ensuring any clothes that are outgrown are packed away and replenished.

The right candidate must have an up to date DBS. First Aid, Excellent English. Italian is a bonus. Excellent references.
Duties include, but not limited to:
• Getting the children ready in the morning
• Changing the baby
• School runs – mainly after school collection (10 min walk)
• Putting the baby down for naps
• Preparing the children’s meals, feeding them, and cleaning up afterwards
• Reading to the children
• Supporting with homework
• Playing with toys
• Accompanying the baby to weekly playgroup activities
• Taking the children to parks, playgrounds, museums and galleries
• Encouraging the children’s learning and development through different activities
• Ensuring play areas are tidy and toys have been put away
• Sorting out the children’s laundry
• Staying safe and calm and vigilant at all times
• Teaching kindness and good manners
