Head of Facilities

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced facilities leader to take ownership of the strategic and operational management of a diverse property portfolio, ensuring buildings, infrastructure, compliance, and facilities services are delivered safely and to the highest standards. The successful candidate will lead contractors, manage budgets and projects, drive continuous improvement, and play a key role in shaping the facilities management strategy.

Description

Head of Facilities Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the facilities management strategy across a multi–site property portfolio.
• Procure, tender and manage facilities contractors and service providers.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory, legal and health & safety requirements.
• Develop and manage planned maintenance programmes and service schedules.
• Control budgets, drive cost efficiencies and improve service delivery.
• Oversee facilities projects and refurbishments from concept through to completion.
• Implement robust FM systems and processes across the business.
• Audit completed works to ensure quality, value and compliance standards are met.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Provide regular reporting and recommendations to the Executive Team.
• Identify industry innovations and opportunities to enhance operational performance.

Profile

A successful Head of Facilities should have:

• Extensive experience in a senior Facilities Management position.
• Experience working across multiple sites, ideally within retail, hospitality or leisure sectors.
• Strong contractor, supplier and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Experience leading technical engineering teams.
• Excellent knowledge of health & safety legislation and compliance requirements.
• Strong project management experience within live operational environments.
• Commercial acumen with exceptional budget management skills.
• Experience writing technical specifications and managing contracts.
• A proactive, strategic approach with excellent communication skills
