Quant is urgently looking for an Automation Engineer to join our high profile client.

Our client is a well known commodity trading platform. All their clients have recently moved to a SAAS platform and this role looks to push the team towards Automation and Devops.

Working closely with Development and customer facing support teams, the role will require you to deliver on internal projects, BAU workstreams (patching, application and infrastructure support) and supporting the development team to meet deadlines.

Day to Day the Automation Engineer will:

• Contribute toward design improvements that allow for more efficient support of the environment, applications and clients
• Process Automation
• Build a better managed services solution
• Actively contribute to increasing the availability of services by providing iterative improvements to existing infrastructure solutions
• Research and identify the most appropriate options for the delivery infrastructure.
• Design the architecture of the required infrastructure
• Manage the deployment, maintenance and upgrade paths of the infrastructure
• Connectivity

The environment is that of Facebook or Google, relaxed open with time to think and make the right decisions. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed with an open dress code. Automation Engineers / Infrastructure Consultant should have:

• Strong infrastructure and OS background
• Strong powershell
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code concepts. You should be proficient in Ansible and Terraform
• Good scripting skills. Powershell on Windows and Linux is used throughout our platform
• Proficient level of Cloud awareness in Azure (although we will consider other Cloud knowledge)
• Worked in a team with GitOps framework
• Good understanding of Microsoft SQL and Database deployments
• Core containerisation knowledge
• Strong experience with automated deployment tools.

The client offers a bonus to all employees as a result of performance from day 1 usually around the 20% mark.
