Chief of Staff

Jobs In. Fitness
London

A fast-growing, mission-led recovery operator is looking for a Chief of Staff to help lead the next stage of its growth across London.

With several sites already operating and an ambitious plan to scale significantly over the coming years, this is a pivotal leadership role for someone who can bring structure, pace and commercial focus to a growing business.

Based in London and working across the sites, the role reports directly to the Managing Director and will play a key part in shaping how the business operates as it grows.

The Basics:

● Salary: £55-£70k

● Hours: Full-time (min 40)

● Location: across London, must be London based. Offices East London.

● Opportunity to develop into MD within a couple of years!

This is a hybrid Chief of Staff / COO-style role, designed for someone who wants genuine ownership and the opportunity to grow into a senior operational leadership position.

The successful candidate will scale the current offering to a much larger, more sophisticated organisation - joining up teams, improving processes, driving accountability and ensuring that growth is commercially and operationally sustainable.

The role will work closely with senior leaders across the business, taking ownership of cross-functional projects and relieving the Managing Director of day-to-day operational pressures so they can focus on the wider growth strategy.

There is significant scope for the role to grow alongside the business, with a clear pathway towards a broader operational leadership position.

The Role:

Operational + Commercial Leadership:

  • Drive the execution of the company's strategy across multiple departments and ensure priorities translate into action.

  • Build greater consistency, accountability and collaboration across the business.

  • Work closely with the finance department to understand performance, budgets and commercial priorities.

  • Support the business in scaling sustainably while maintaining its mission and culture.

New Site Openings:

  • Own the end-to-end process for bringing new sites to life, coordinating teams across the business to ensure projects move from planning through to successful launch.

  • Establish clear timelines, responsibilities, processes and decision points for future openings.

  • Identify opportunities to improve and standardise the site-opening process as the business scales.

Systems, Processes + Automation:

  • Introduce structure and repeatable processes across a growing organisation.

  • Identify inefficiencies and implement practical systems to improve how teams work.

  • Lead the integration of technology and AI across the business, identifying opportunities to automate, streamline and improve performance.

  • Create clear reporting and operating rhythms that keep teams aligned against objectives.

Leadership + Collaboration:

  • Work across finance, marketing, build & infrastructure, community and customer service.

  • Bring different teams together around shared objectives and improve communication across the organisation.

  • Partner closely with the Operations Team and functional leads, rather than owning day-to-day site operations directly.

  • Help create a more collaborative, high-performing culture as the organisation grows.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will be an ambitious operator who enjoys turning strategy into action and thrives in a fast-moving, growing environment.

They will bring:

  • Experience working across multiple functions or teams within a growing business.

  • Strong operational and organisational skills, with a track record of creating structure from complexity.

  • Commercial awareness and confidence working with budgets, financial performance and business objectives.

  • Experience managing cross-functional projects, ideally including new site openings, expansion or significant business change.

  • A genuine interest in technology, systems and AI, with the ability to identify where these can create efficiencies.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence senior leaders and bring teams together.

  • A hands-on, proactive approach — someone who sees what needs doing and takes ownership.

  • Ambition to grow into a broader leadership role and ultimately take responsibility for running a business.

  • A genuine connection with the company's mission and an understanding that commercial success enables meaningful social impact.

Experience in multi-site hospitality, fitness, wellness, leisure, retail, food & beverage or another customer-facing growth business would be particularly relevant.
