Service Accountant
We're looking for a Service Accountant for a local government organisation based in London (hybrid) on an initial contract, paying up to £400 per day.
This is a hybrid role with a mix of remote and office working. The successful Service Accountant will provide proactive financial support and challenge across a range of service areas, helping budget holders manage their finances and deliver efficiencies. You'll work across the full budget cycle, covering budget setting, monitoring and accounts closing for both capital and revenue. You'll also provide clear financial advice at all levels and flag emerging financial risks early. You will need proven experience working with the following: Management accounting in a customer-focused environmentCost centre management across budget setting, monitoring and accounts closing (capital and revenue)
Working directly with budget holders and providing a finance service to clients
Advanced spreadsheet skills
Local government finance and services
Working on your own initiative with sound judgement on when to escalate The following would be beneficial: Fully qualified AAT or part-qualified CCAB
Experience in an accounting environment within a large organisation
Experience managing or coaching junior finance staff
Cross-organisational working with diverse internal and external stakeholders Interested? Please apply below.
