Product Lead (First Product Hire) – AI for Financial Services

£70K - £80K + equity

London – remote flexibility

We’re looking for the first product hire for an AI startup based in London. They’re redefining how financial services understand and engage with their customers.

At its core is a proprietary AI model that reclusters financial customer data to reveal richer insights into behaviour, financial confidence, and attitudes towards money. Combined with Engage, their communications engine, the platform enables personalised customer interactions at scale – moving beyond one-size-fits-all marketing to create truly tailored campaigns that drive results.

With 15–20 employees, primarily on the engineering and data science side, and backed by leading fintech investors, the company is now seeking its first dedicated Product Lead. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a category-defining product and lay the foundation for the product function as the business prepares for its next stage of growth.

The role

As the first product hire, you will:

• Own and shape the product roadmap for Athena and Engage, aligning short-term customer needs with long-term strategy.
• Translate complex financial services challenges into clear, actionable product requirements.
• Act as the key bridge between engineering and commercial teams, ensuring alignment between product development and customer outcomes.
• Work closely with design partners and early adopters to gather insights and validate product direction.
• Establish product processes and frameworks to support future team expansion.

About you

• Proven product experience, ideally within Martech, AI-driven, or data-heavy platforms.
• Strong ability to convert customer insight into product strategy and technical requirements.
• Comfort operating as the first product hire in a high-growth environment, with the adaptability to wear multiple hats.
• Curiosity about AI and its application in transforming traditional industries.
• A collaborative approach and the confidence to work directly with founders, engineers, and customers.

This role is London based with a lot of remote flexibility. The team currently work from a shared office space in central London.
