We are now seeking a Strategy and Market Intelligence Lead to play a pivotal role in shaping our growth strategy through data, insight, and AI-enabled decision making.
About the Role
The Strategy and Market Intelligence Lead sits at the intersection of market insight, commercial strategy, and AI-enabled analytics.
You’ll equip our leadership, marketing, and commercial teams with clear, actionable intelligence that accelerates growth, helping Oritain continuously identify and prioritise the right markets, customers, and opportunities.
Blending strategic thinking with hands-on execution, you’ll lead market sizing, competitor intelligence, and account prioritisation- leveraging advanced analytics and AI tools to turn complex, evolving datasets into practical recommendations.
This is a high-impact individual contributor role, reporting directly to the CMO, with responsibility for building and scaling Oritain’s AI-enabled market intelligence capability- including the data foundations, tools, and methodologies that underpin it.
Working cross-functionally with our Marketing, Growth, RevOps, New Markets and Product teams, you’ll ensure insight is not only generated, but continuously refreshed, validated, and embedded into decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
You will lead Oritain’s market sizing efforts (TAM, SAM, SOM), applying a combination of top-down, bottom-up, and AI-assisted modelling approaches to dynamically size, refresh, and stress-test growth opportunities across priority sectors and regions.
A central focus of the role will be designing and maintaining high-quality competitor and market intelligence. You’ll leverage AI-enabled monitoring and analytics to detect emerging signals, narrative shifts, and competitive moves- translating noise into clear commercial insight.
You’ll take ownership of market data and intelligence foundations, curating and structuring high-quality external datasets that can be effectively leveraged by AI and analytics tools. Working closely with Growth and RevOps, you’ll ensure data is reliable, enriched, and decision-ready.
You’ll apply AI-enabled tools alongside strong analytical judgement to identify, prioritise, and continuously refresh ICP-aligned accounts and buying groups- enabling Sales and Marketing to focus on the highest-value opportunities.
You’ll collaborate closely with revenue operations, sales, and marketing teams to support targeted outreach- ensuring insight is directly connected to pipeline generation and measurable commercial impact.
You’ll produce clear, compelling reports and presentations for stakeholders across the business, including the executive leadership team and board- turning complex data into narratives, recommendations, and decision frameworks that drive confident action.
You’ll connect external market signals with internal performance data, validating and challenging insights (including AI-generated outputs) to build a robust and complete picture of opportunity.
You’ll evaluate, adopt, and responsibly apply AI tools (e.g. enrichment platforms, analytics tools, and LLMs) to accelerate research, improve insight quality, and scale output- while maintaining data integrity, transparency, and appropriate human oversight.
You’ll stay at the forefront of industry trends, data sources, and emerging technologies, proactively recommending improvements to how we collect, analyse, and operationalise market intelligence.
Skills & Experience
You bring strong credentials and experience in market research, strategy, or commercial insights, ideally within a B2B or complex sales environment. You’re comfortable owning end-to-end analysis, from sourcing and modelling data through to presenting strategic recommendations.
You have proven experience in market sizing (TAM, SAM, SOM) and understand how to translate this into tangible commercial opportunities and prioritisation decisions.
You have hands-on experience with AI-enabled research, analytics, or data enrichment tools, and are confident applying them to accelerate insight generation- while using sound judgement to validate and challenge outputs.
You’re highly analytical, with experience in competitor research, data modelling, and insight generation. You’re confident working with data tools, CRM systems, and large or imperfect datasets to extract meaningful, actionable insights.
You’re an excellent communicator, able to distil complex information into clear, compelling narratives for a range of audiences, including senior leadership.
You’re detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
You’re comfortable being hands-on “on the tools” while also contributing strategically, thriving in a role with broad scope and high ownership.
Experience in sustainability, supply chains, or traceability is highly advantageous, but not essential.
