Trading Assistant

Job description

A Top Tier Trading Firm is seeking an experienced professional to join its team as a Trading Assistant – Fixed Income , based in either London or Paris .

Responsibilities

• Support daily trade operations for corporate and government bonds, interest rate swaps, and other fixed income products.
• Perform trade capture, booking, allocations, confirmations, and settlements while coordinating with trading, middle office teams, and external counterparties.
• Monitor, investigate, and resolve trade breaks, settlement issues, and reconciliation discrepancies across multiple custodians and clearing platforms.
• Work closely with traders to ensure timely and accurate processing of executed trades throughout the trade lifecycle.
• Maintain accurate trade records and assist with operational reporting and post-trade documentation.
• Liaise with prime brokers, custodians, and clearing firms on operational matters, including margin requirements and collateral management.
• Support process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and streamline workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; strong academic background preferred.
• 3–6 years of experience in Trade Operations, Middle Office, or Post-Trade support roles.
• Experience with fixed income products such as corporate bonds, government bonds, or interest rate swaps is preferred.
• Solid understanding of the trade lifecycle, settlement processes, and post-trade operations.
• Ability to operate effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Proactive mindset with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
