Furniture Consultant (Regional Sales - London & M4 Corridor)

REPORTING TO : Sales Director
MAIN PURPOSE/OBJECTIVES OF ROLE:

Working as part of a newly formed sales team, the Salesperson will be responsible for generating new business opportunities within the allocated region. The role focuses on developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including relevant end users, architecture and design practices, and—where applicable—Design & Build (D&B) main contractors.
The successful candidate will proactively create their own appointments, network within the target sector, and represent the company at relevant industry events and exhibitions. Certain activities will be coordinated with other members of the New Business team, with strategic direction provided during the monthly New Business Team meeting.
This role carries a sales target, with commission paid quarterly in arrears based on agreed benchmarks and satisfactory progress.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Business Development
• Identify and develop projects within the target sectors to achieve planned sales and gross profit.
• Create new relationships from targeted accounts and expand opportunities within existing accounts.
• Devise and implement long-term sales and marketing strategies to develop a broad and active contact base.
• Network extensively within the sector by attending both daytime and evening industry events, including:
- Company-hosted events and socials
- Design and supplier events
- Practice-specific networking opportunities
2. Sales & Tender Management
• Manage tender returns, formal furniture proposals, and quotations from start to completion.
• Coordinate the tender response process in line with agreed company tender processes and branding guidelines.
• Agree pricing strategy with the Sales Director prior to submission.
• Work with internal support teams to ensure timely, accurate, and high-standard submissions.
3. Account & Pipeline Management
• Use Pipedrive, Platforms, and Key Account Plans (where relevant) to manage and develop accounts.
• Provide monthly updates and reports to the Sales Director on sales activities, pipeline status, and key project developments.
• Ensure effective use of published and referral leads.
4. Collaboration & Internal Processes
• Liaise with other departments regarding projects post-order to ensure smooth delivery.
• Work within company guidelines, administrative systems, and health and safety regulations.
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and awareness of industry trends.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers.
5. Health & Safety
• Maintain safe working practices whilst undertaking your duties at all times
• To act in accordance with the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and practices highlighting any issues appropriately
6. Miscellaneous
• Work flexibly and be receptive and adaptable to a changing environment within a fast-expanding Company
• Undertake any other reasonable tasks as directed by management

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
1. Proven experience in B2B sales, ideally within interiors, furniture, design, or construction sectors.
2. Strong network within architecture, design, and/or D&B main contractors (desirable).
3. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
4. Ability to manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to order closure.
5. Confident in networking at both formal and social events.
6. Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently.
