Chef de Partie – Cafe Kowloon
Pay: £15.50 per hour, inclusive of tronc
Hours: Approximately 30 - 45 hours per week
Location: London
Position: Full-time
Cafe Kowloon is looking for an experienced Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team.
Cafe Kowloon is a modern Hong Kong-inspired restaurant with a menu centred around Cantonese flavours and techniques, live-fire cooking, wok, grill and high-quality produce.
We’re looking for a confident and organised chef who can take responsibility for their section, work well as part of a team and maintain high standards throughout prep and service.
The Role
As Chef de Partie, you will:
Take responsibility for the preparation and running of your section
Ensure all mise en place is completed and organised ahead of service
Cook and plate dishes consistently to the required standard
Work across different sections of the kitchen when required
Maintain excellent standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
Monitor stock, rotation, prep levels and wastage
Communicate effectively with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and wider kitchen team
Support junior members of the brigade during prep and service
Assist with deliveries, storage and stock management
Follow recipes, specifications and kitchen procedures consistently
Contribute to a professional, organised and positive working environment
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or experienced Demi Chef de Partie
Experience working in a quality, high-volume restaurant kitchen
Strong basic cooking skills and good attention to detail
Ability to organise and confidently run a section during busy services
Good understanding of food hygiene, allergens and safe working practices
Reliable, punctual and organised
Able to communicate clearly and work effectively as part of a team
Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen
Keen to learn and develop
Experience with Cantonese, Chinese or East Asian cooking is beneficial but not essential . Training will be provided for the right candidate.
