We are looking for a doctor with relevant acute/emergency experience (ST1 level) to work and train as a Junior Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine.
The post is for currently employed internal Kings medical staff only and is available from August 2026.
The post will be based at the ED of the Princess Royal University Hospital which is a designated Trauma Unit and Hyper-acute Stroke Centre.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic emergency workforce treating a wide spectrum of emergency medicine presentations. This is a great opportunity to broaden your experience while working in a friendly and supportive environment.
Main duties of the job
The primary duties of the post are to see new patients within the Emergency Department, with ready access to supervision from more senior staff and dedicated teaching opportunities.
The ED consultant team provides clinical supervision and care delivery 16 hours per day, 7 days a week. They also have varied special interests including trauma, frailty, disaster medicine, education, public health, global health and pre-hospital care.
There is a strong training culture incorporating lecture-room teaching and clinical supervision, opportunities to attend relevant clinics and courses, and full immersion simulation sessions.
The rota has built in secondment time every 10th week for personal learning and development. Specialties include Paediatrics, Cardiology, Stroke Medicine, Medical Education etc.
There are also opportunities for flexible working and career progression to a more senior grade.
The post holders will work 44.15 hours per week (including night shifts and weekend duties). Accommodation may be available.
