Unitemps
Middlesex

Applications open for current MDX students only

The Student Developer is a new, paid student staff at MDXSU, created to build a new digital student feedback tool. Working within MDXSU's existing Microsoft 365 environment, you will turn an agreed design into a working tool that collects course and student experience feedback, automates the journey from submission to response, and closes the feedback loop so students can see that their voice leads to change.

This is a hands-on build . You will work closely with your line manager, who owns the design direction and quality, while you lead the technical development. It is an opportunity to gain paid, real-world experience building automated systems that are used across the University, and to see your work make a direct difference to the student experience.

Duties and responsibilities
You will be accountable for:

  • Building a working digital feedback tool within MDXSU's Microsoft 365 environment, to the agreed design and quality standard.
  • Developing reliable automated workflows that move feedback from submission through to notification, chase, and response without manual staff input.
  • Delivering a tool that is accessible, easy to use, and trusted by students and staff.
  • Producing clear documentation and standard operational processes (SOPs) so the tool can be maintained and developed by the team beyond your time in the .

  • Create the MS Forms for feedback submission and related processes.
  • Build and maintain Power Automate flows for notifications, chase reminders, status updates and escalation.
  • Develop the public-facing 'you said, we did' page so resolved feedback is visible by programme.
  • Build relationships with staff across the Students Union, in particular our marketing and communications team.
  • Set up and test access for different user types: students, SVLs, Faculty Leaders, officers, academics and SU staff.
  • Test the tool with users, gather feedback, and iterate on the build.
