The Role – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
- Full-time, long-term role starting immediately
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with challenging behaviour and SEMH needs
- Help pupils manage emotions, regulate behaviour, and engage positively with learning
- Assist teachers and behaviour mentors in delivering tailored support and intervention plans
- Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and self-confidence through encouragement and structure
- Work closely with SENCOs and therapists to ensure pupils’ individual needs are fully supported
- Play an active role in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
Person Specification
- Degree in Psychology, Education, Criminology , or a related field (essential)
- Previous experience working with young people with challenging behaviour , SEN , or SEMH (desirable but not essential)
- Calm, empathetic, and confident when faced with challenging situations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners and helping them achieve their potential
