Salary: Negotiable depending on experience About the Role/School Teach Plus are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming, "Outstanding" two-form entry primary school in Ealing. Starting in November, this full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in a nurturing and inclusive environment. The SEN Teaching Assistant will primarily support a child who uses a wheelchair, ensuring they have full access to the curriculum and the school environment. The role also involves working with small groups of children to deliver targeted interventions. Personal care may be required at times, and the successful SEN Teaching Assistant will approach this with sensitivity and professionalism. This primary school, which also includes a nursery, is highly regarded for its inclusive ethos and commitment to high-quality education for all pupils. Recently judged "Outstanding" in every category, the school was praised for its ambitious curriculum, exemplary behaviour, and the exceptional support it provides for children with additional needs, including speech and language support. Job Responsibilities As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your key duties will include: Providing one-to-one support for a pupil who uses a wheelchair, ensuring accessibility and inclusion in all activities. Supporting pupils with additional needs in small groups through tailored interventions. Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated learning activities. Helping to create a positive, safe, and stimulating learning environment. Supporting with personal care when required. Encouraging independence and confidence in all learners. Acting as a positive role model for pupils, promoting kindness and respect. Qualifications/Experience To be successful as a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will need: Previous experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) - particularly physical or mobility needs. A caring, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children's learning and well-being. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service.
