Responsibilities

This is a critical role as part of our commitment to innovation and relevance in Sustainable and Transition Finance. The position will lead a global team of direct, commission-based sales professionals across EMEA, APAC, and the Americas to deliver against sales targets, including new sales, revenue growth, market coverage, and customer retention.
One of the primary objectives is to drive the relevance of Sustainable Finance through the sale of Second Party Opinions and Net Zero Assessments (and any future products). This includes increasing the number of new Second Party Opinion and Net Zero Assessment relationships through direct sales, leveraging existing sales platforms within Moody’s Ratings, and maximizing business opportunities. Other key output targets include customer retention, price realization, and re-subscription activities (renewals, amendments, etc.).
Target segments include all potential and existing thematic debt issuers. The role requires building a strong global network among intermediaries, issuers, and other external stakeholders and influencers.
The position will report to the Global Head of Relationship Management and will work closely with other parts of the organization.

  • Lead a global team of direct, commission-based sales professionals to deliver against sales targets
  • Develop and implement the strategic and tactical sales and marketing plan in close collaboration with the Global and Regional Heads of Relationship Management and other internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with generalist Relationship Managers to position the Sustainable Finance offering as a key differentiator
  • Develop and execute extensive outreach programs targeting issuers, intermediaries, local industry associations, and other financial market stakeholders (with an expectation to spend approximately 30% of time meeting customers globally)
  • Analyze and understand the key underlying dynamics of sustainable and transition finance across different regions
  • Work proactively with the Product Management team on product needs, ideas, and concepts, and identify business opportunities for new product development through market and customer engagement
  • Partner with marketing and product strategy teams to drive marketing initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to leverage data and technology to improve sales enablement and operational efficiency
  • Act as a speaker or facilitator at expert panels during internal and external meetings and conferences
  • Drive continuous service improvement with a focus on revenue generation and customer retention
