About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Garment Technologist to join our team to work closely with our Senior Garment Technologist and wider Design team across both Menswear and Womenswear. Previous experience working with activewear and an understanding of activewear fabrics, including cut and sew and seamless garments, is hugely advantageous.

We are looking for someone with an in-depth understanding of the fitting process that can ensure products conform to the tech packs. Communication skills are essential as you will be liaising with internal teams, as well as suppliers and factories across different time zones on a daily basis.

The ideal candidate will be able to use their initiative to find effective ways to elevate the quality and fit of products, as well as reducing costs, time, and returns. You will have excellent attention to detail and be able to implement and manage the tolerance rules of cross category styles and help to resolve any issues in a timely manner.

You must have a thorough understanding of garment construction, fabric technology and testing across different products. You must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive attitude towards challenges and finding solutions.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Work closely with our Design team to create accurate sizing specs for tech packs and grade to all sizes
  • Plan and manage fit sessions, produce concise feedback for suppliers and ensure that tech packs are updated with fit comments and communicated clearly with our factories
  • Implement standard measurements and record against specifications
  • Define and maintain sizing rules for each garment type
  • Produce and manage the critical path with regards to fittings, sealing and production
  • Assist the team by sending out all initial specs based on tech packs
  • Ensure all delivered product is within tolerance and liaise with suppliers if any issues arise
  • Oversee fabric testing across all products to ensure they are fit for purpose. This includes approving test reports and care instructions of products
  • Communicate all technical requirements, queries and fitting details both internally and externally
  • Strategise and implement a garment sealing process by working directly with factories to ensure consistent quality in terms of fabric, manufacture and fit
  • Help elevate product quality and factory standards
  • Work closely with our Designers to identify leading, quality fabrics
  • Review product returns data and customer feedback to help guide improvements of our products

About You

  • You should have 2+ years experience within a similar role, ideally within an SME/start-up, and experience within activewear garments would be hugely advantageous
  • Used to working within a small team, being proactive, highly organised and comfortable working to shorter deadlines
  • Proficient with building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners
  • Experience creating size specs
  • Experience of working directly with factories and suppliers and an understanding of factory production processes
  • Extensive understanding of fitting and fit issues is essential
  • Knowledge of grading and grade rules is essential
  • Thorough understanding of garment construction, fabric technology and testing
  • Understanding and experience working with Seamless products
  • Critical path management skills
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Clear and concise communication skills both written and verbal
  • Confident using Google Suite, Excel, Slack, Adobe Illustrator
  • Passionate about the fitness and fashion industry
  • Commercially minded

  • Are able to give and take constructive feedback
