We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a good-rated secondary school in Redbridge. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inspiring students in all areas of science, including biology, chemistry, and physics. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality lessons, supporting student development, and contributing to the wider life of the school.

Role Overview:
As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons that meet the needs of students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will contribute to a collaborative and supportive science department, helping to develop resources, schemes of work, and innovative teaching approaches. Your work will ensure that students develop both a strong understanding of scientific principles and an enthusiasm for the subject.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality science lessons in line with the school curriculum.

  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.

  • Develop teaching resources, lesson plans, and departmental schemes of work.

  • Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.

  • Support the wider science department in extra-curricular activities, science clubs, and events.

  • Contribute to the school’s assessment and reporting procedures, including preparation for examinations.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and support departmental initiatives.

  • Uphold the school’s safeguarding, health and safety, and behavioural policies.

Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) and a relevant degree in a science-related subject.

  • Strong subject knowledge across all areas of science.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Ability to inspire and engage students of varying abilities.

  • Experience in assessment, curriculum planning, and classroom management.

  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
