The Role – Graduate Trainee Teacher (Nutrition)

As a Graduate Trainee Teacher – Nutrition , you will train full-time in a London secondary school , supported by experienced mentors and specialist trainers.

You will:

• Teach Nutrition and Food Education across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to support related curriculum areas where appropriate.
• Gradually increase your teaching responsibility through a structured and supported training programme .
• Receive weekly pedagogical training focused on classroom practice and effective teaching strategies.
• Develop strong behaviour management and lesson delivery skills .
• Support practical food preparation and nutrition-based learning activities within the classroom.
• Work closely with experienced teachers and senior leaders.
• Be fully prepared to achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) within one academic year.

Ideal Candidate

• A 2:1 or above in Nutrition or a closely related degree (such as Food Science, Dietetics, or Health Sciences).
• GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C or above (or recognised equivalents).
• Strong knowledge of nutrition, health, and food education .
• A genuine commitment to working with young people and making a positive impact .
• Professional, resilient, and motivated to develop as a teacher.
• Right to work in the UK .
