An independent secondary school in Wandsworth is seeking an engaging and thoughtful RE Teacher to join its Humanities Department. The school is looking for someone who can create interesting lessons, encourage respectful discussion and help students develop a strong understanding of religious and ethical issues.

• RE Teacher Role

• Teaching Religious Education across KS3 and KS4, including GCSE

You will teach Religious Education across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, covering a broad range of religious, philosophical and ethical topics.

The successful teacher will encourage students to examine different beliefs and viewpoints while developing their ability to form balanced and well-supported arguments. Lessons should provide opportunities for discussion, written analysis and examination-style questions.

At GCSE, you will prepare students for the demands of their examination specification, including extended responses and the analysis of religious and ethical perspectives.

You will also be responsible for tracking student progress and adapting lessons where additional support or challenge is required.

RE Teacher - Experience and Qualifications

• Degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy or related subject

• QTS or recognised teaching qualification

• Experience teaching RE at secondary level

• Ability to teach KS3 and KS4

• GCSE RE experience

• Strong subject knowledge

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to lead thoughtful classroom discussions

• Strong written feedback and assessment skills

• Effective classroom management

• Commitment to inclusive teaching

Salary

The salary for this RE Teacher position will be paid to scale on MPS/UPS, depending on experience and qualifications.
