Here's what you'll do during a typical day: The role will be to manage all aspects of engineering operations, including maintaining the hotel building, and physical plant with particular attention towards health & safety, security and asset protection. Additionally the role is responsible for managing the above whilst ensuring that the building costs are managed in line with budget expectations. Responsible for supporting hotel compliance with all statutory Fire and Health and Safety legislation. Develops and implements strategies that deliver products and services to exceed the needs and expectations of the hotels target customer and our employees, thus providing a return on investment to our owners.- Lead all engineering and maintenance operations across the hotel, ensuring the building, equipment, and facilities are maintained to the highest standards.
- Ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety, Fire Safety, and statutory regulations, including audits, risk assessments, training, and documentation.
- Manage preventative maintenance programmes, budgets, and departmental costs to meet financial targets.
- Oversee all plant and equipment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, water treatment, and life safety systems.
- Manage contractors and service providers, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standard.
- Support the planning and delivery of CAPEX projects and annual maintenance plans.
- Monitor and improve operational performance, presenting monthly results and identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Oversee building IT systems in partnership with external providers.
- Recruit, develop, and lead the engineering team, fostering a positive, high-performing culture.
- Work closely with department heads to support hotel operations, guest satisfaction, and brand standards.
- Supports hotel in emergency or crisis management situations, on call 24 hours should the need arise
