School Caretaker - Brent | Primary Sector

We are working with a primary school in Brent recruiting for an experienced School Caretaker. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual with at least 2 years of school-based experience to take ownership of a modern, purpose-built site.

The Role You will be responsible for the day-to-day security, maintenance, and safety of the school premises. The role requires a hands-on professional who can work independently to manage a diverse workload, from statutory compliance checks to general repairs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a primary key holder for the daily opening and securing of the site

  • Managing the school's planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule

  • Identifying and resolving building defects including plumbing and carpentry repairs

  • Supervising external contractors and ensuring work is completed to school standards

  • Conducting health and safety inspections and maintaining the site risk log

What the School Is Looking For

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a school caretaking or site maintenance role

  • Solid understanding of school-specific health and safety requirements

  • A reliable, self-motivated approach and excellent problem-solving skills
