Ready to take the next step in your HR career? An Outstanding secondary school in Southwark is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join its senior leadership support team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity to become a trusted advisor to school leaders, helping to shape people strategy while ensuring the highest standards of HR practice across the school. Combining strategic and operational responsibilities, you'll play a key role in supporting recruitment, employee relations, staff wellbeing and organisational development within a thriving educational environment.
The Role
Working closely with the Headteacher and School Business Manager, you'll provide expert HR guidance across all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
Partnering with senior leaders on HR strategy and workforce planning
Providing advice on employee relations, performance management and employment legislation
Leading recruitment, onboarding and safer recruitment processes
Supporting organisational change and staff development initiatives
Monitoring HR compliance, policies and the Single Central Record
Overseeing absence management and staff wellbeing programmes
Producing HR reports to support strategic decision-making

About You
The school is looking for an experienced HR professional with strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and the confidence to build effective relationships at all levels.
Previous experience as an HR Business Partner, HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor is highly desirable. Experience within education would be advantageous, although applications are welcomed from candidates with transferable HR experience from other sectors.
Salary & Benefits
£48,000 – £58,000 per annum
