As Year 2 Teacher, you’ll inherit a thoughtful scheme for reading comprehension, grammar and number sense, and you’ll enrich it with your flair. From January 2026, the Year 2 Teacher will lead guided reading, reasoning-rich maths, and topic projects that culminate in high-quality writing. With specialist music and PE, the Year 2 Teacher focuses where impact is greatest. The Independent School offers coaching, observation cycles and time for professional enquiry starting January 2026 and continuing beyond January 2026.

Year 2 Teacher requirements
• QTS/PGCE (or equivalent) and a track record as a Year 2 Teacher in KS1.
• Creative, organised and data-literate Year 2 Teacher who adapts teaching responsively.
• Ready for pre-start planning before January 2026, induction January 2026, and full responsibility from January 2026 as Year 2 Teacher.
• A Year 2 Teacher who values partnership with families and colleagues within an Independent School.

What you’ll do as Year 2 Teacher
• Orchestrate high-impact lessons and targeted interventions as Year 2 Teacher.
• Contribute to assessment points in January 2026 and later in spring 2026 as Year 2 Teacher.
• Champion wellbeing, curiosity and independence in a values-led Independent School.
