We are looking to appoint a well-qualified and inspiring teacher with outstanding subject knowledge, able to teach confidently from Year 7 through to A level. You should have experience of using a range of teaching and learning strategies and be able to offer enthusiasm for your subject and excellent pupil outcomes. A willingness to contribute to the extra-curricular programme and support the pastoral life of our School is essential. ​​

You will join an experienced team, who have an excellent track record of supporting pupils to achieve outstanding results. In 2025, 81% of grades were at 6 or above in English Language and Literature ( iGCSE Edexcel) with pupils performing, on average, over a grade higher than their baseline predictions. English Literature(Edexcel) is a popular A-level subject. In 2025, 93% of grades were at C or above.

The English department consists of 9members of staff, who teach in a suite of rooms in our Performing Arts Centre. The school has a strong culture of collaboration and support with colleagues working closely to develop one another’s subject knowledge and pedagogy. We are committed to offering theatre trips; author workshops; poetry recitations; and events for World Book Day for our pupils. ​
