Chief of Staff
Chief of Staff
Scope automates the data collection that’s slowing down the physical world.
We’re building the AI-native data collection layer for 2 billion field workers and, along the way, the world’s largest dataset on the condition of the built world and the decisions experts make about it.
It’s a huge market with a perfect fit for AI. Our customers inspect facilities and products for companies including Shell, AstraZeneca and SpaceX.
About the Role
We’re hiring a Chief of Staff to work directly with our CEO on building and scaling Scope. You’ll improve how our teams operate, help us hire and develop exceptional people, and own projects across company strategy and operations.
You’ll have substantial autonomy and be expected to identify problems, challenge decisions and take work through to completion. The role will involve periods of high intensity work and substantial travel.
In this role you will:
Work with the CEO and team leads on team structure, evaluating performance and developing people as the company grows.
Work on removing bottlenecks from some of our largest deals and building efficiency and repeatability from a large ACV deal structure.
Work across Scope’s teams to understand how each operates, identify bottlenecks and implement changes that improve speed and quality.
Partner with Head of Talent to improve how we attract and assess candidates, including our employer brand, interview process and work trials.
Own company reporting and weekly updates, bringing together financial and operational metrics to inform decisions and keep the team aligned.
Strengthen financial operations, including spending, invoice processes and visibility into burn. Work on materials for investor updates.
Organise company and recruiting events, and coordinate our presence at industry conferences, including sponsorships/ partnerships.
Lead projects across brand, marketing and internal tools. Identify what needs attention, figure out best approach and take responsibility for delivering it.
Requirements for the role:
Experience owning complex projects in a high-growth company (successful startup, IB, MBB), ideally in a strategy or operations role.
A track record of turning loosely defined problems into concrete results with limited direction.
Strong analytical skills and confidence working with financial and operational data.
The judgement and communication skills to challenge senior leaders, work effectively with technical teams and develop less experienced colleagues.
High standards and attention to detail. You take responsibility for implementation and follow through.
You thrive in an environment with high expectations, substantial autonomy and changing priorities.
Work is onsite, 5 days a week, or at client-site (chemical plants, oil rigs, manufacturing facilities etc).
