An exceptional Primary School in Newham is seeking to appoint an experienced and highly organised Office Manager to lead its busy school office and administrative team. About the Role
The successful candidate will oversee the effective running of the school office, ensuring high standards of administration, communication, and customer service across the school.
Working closely with the Headteacher and School Business Manager, you will manage administrative processes, supervise office staff, coordinate communication with parents and external agencies, maintain accurate school records, and support admissions, attendance, and operational procedures.
This role requires excellent organisational skills, strong leadership ability, attention to detail, and the confidence to manage multiple priorities within a busy school environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the school office and administrative team
Oversee admissions, attendance, and pupil record systems
Coordinate communication with parents, staff, governors, and external agencies
Maintain accurate school records and management information systems
Support the Headteacher and School Business Manager with operational administration
Manage office procedures, workflows, and customer service standards
Coordinate school events, meetings, and visitor management
Ensure compliance with school policies, safeguarding, and data protection requirements

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Previous experience in an office management or senior administrative role
Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and management information systems
Experience supervising staff and managing office workflows
Ability to work accurately, confidentially, and under pressure
Desirable
Experience working within a school or educational setting
Knowledge of systems such as SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom
Understanding of safeguarding, attendance, and admissions procedures
Experience supporting operational or business management functions in a school
