KPI Education is working with high-performing secondary schools across Brent seeking ambitious and enthusiastic Graduate Unqualified English Teachers to join their teams from September 2026 .

This is an ideal opportunity for graduates looking to gain hands-on classroom experience before progressing onto a PGCE, SCITT, School Direct or another teacher-training route .

The Role

Working within a supportive English department, you will gain valuable experience delivering lessons and supporting students across the secondary curriculum.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4 , with opportunities to support GCSE classes.
• Planning and delivering engaging English lessons.
• Teaching English Literature, English Language, reading and writing .
• Supporting GCSE revision and examination preparation.
• Setting and marking classwork, homework and assessments.
• Providing clear, constructive feedback to students.
• Supporting students with different abilities and learning needs.
• Maintaining high standards of behaviour, effort and achievement.
• Building positive relationships with students.
• Working alongside experienced English teachers to develop your classroom practice.
• Contributing to departmental resources, intervention and enrichment activities.

About You

We're looking for graduates with the academic ability, confidence and enthusiasm to become excellent teachers .

You will ideally have:

• A degree in English Literature, English Language or a related subject .
• A strong academic record, with a 2:1 or above preferred .
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for English.
• A desire to inspire and motivate young people.
• Confidence communicating with and leading students.
• Strong organisation, resilience and adaptability.
• High expectations of yourself and your students.
• A clear ambition to build a long-term career in teaching.

Experience in tutoring, mentoring, teaching, youth work, coaching or volunteering is desirable but not essential.
