Salary: £95.83 per day
Start Date: ASAP (Subject to DBS and clearance)

Assignment Details

* Full-time role, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
* Working hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
* Long-term role for full academic year
* Working 1:1 with a Year 3 Pupil with SEND

About the Role

Connex Education is working on behalf of a large and inclusive mainstream primary school in Waltham Forest to recruit a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work 1:1 supporting a Year 3 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This full-time role is to begin ASAP and is ideal for someone with experience supporting children with additional needs in a mainstream setting. The school promotes a nurturing and aspirational learning environment where all pupils are encouraged to reach their full potential. You will play a key role in providing 1:1 support to the pupil, helping them to access the curriculum, regulate emotions, and develop key social and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder
* Help the pupil access learning tasks by using visual supports, routines, and tailored strategies
* Encourage social interaction and support emotional regulation
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement EHCP targets
* Monitor progress and contribute to daily observations and reports
* Promote inclusion and help the pupil engage confidently in all aspects of school life

Person Specification

* Experience supporting people with SEND in schools, care or a similar setting
* A calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour and learning support
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
* A current DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Connex
