About the Role
As School Receptionist , you will be the first point of contact for parents, visitors, pupils and professionals. You will help ensure the school office operates effectively and that communication with families is professional, friendly and consistent.
Key responsibilities will include:
Greeting visitors and ensuring sign-in procedures are followed in line with safeguarding requirements
Managing telephone calls, emails and enquiries with professionalism and discretion
Supporting communication with parents and external agencies
Managing post, deliveries and day-to-day reception administration
Maintaining accurate records and supporting office systems as required
Providing calm, professional support to pupils who come to reception during the school day
Working closely with colleagues to support the wider running of the school office
This role requires strong organisation, a welcoming manner and the ability to manage competing priorities while remaining calm and approachable.
The Office Team
You will join a friendly and collaborative admin team that works closely together to support pupils, staff and families. The school values teamwork, professionalism and clear communication, and the office plays a central role in the daily life of the school.

Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Experience in reception, administration or a customer-facing role
Excellent communication skills and a warm, professional manner
Strong organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask
Confidence using IT systems (email, spreadsheets and database-style systems)
Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding in a school environment
School-based experience is desirable but not essential—training can be provided for candidates with strong transferable skills.
