School Business Manager - High Achieving School - Bromley
Salary: £45,000–£60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-Time | Permanent
A high-performing secondary school in Bromley is seeking an experienced and ambitious School Business Manager to join its Senior Leadership Team to start immediately.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital leadership role within a successful state school committed to academic excellence, exceptional student wellbeing and continuous improvement. Working closely with the Headteacher, you will lead the school's financial, operational and administrative services, ensuring resources are managed effectively to support outstanding outcomes for pupils.
The Role
As School Business Manager, you will provide strategic leadership across the school's business operations while overseeing the efficient day-to-day management of finance, HR, estates and administration.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the school's financial planning, budgeting and financial reporting
· Manage procurement, contracts and value-for-money initiatives
· Oversee HR administration, recruitment and personnel processes
· Lead premises, facilities and health & safety compliance
· Ensure the school meets financial, legal and statutory requirements
· Line manage administrative, finance and site staff
· Support the Headteacher and Governors with strategic planning and operational development
· Drive continuous improvement across business and support services

The Successful Candidate
The school is looking for a proactive and strategic leader with substantial experience in school business or operational management.
You will ideally have:
· Previous experience as a School Business Manager, Operations Manager or senior school administrator
· Strong financial management and budget planning skills
· Experience leading HR, estates or operational functions
· Excellent leadership, organisational and communication abilities
· A thorough understanding of compliance within an educational setting
Salary & Benefits
· £55,000–£70,000 per annum
