Role
We are currently looking for a Pastry Sous Chef to join our pastry team at Rosewood London. The Pastry Sous Chef reports directly to the Pastry Executive Chef and is responsible for contributing to the overall success of outlets and banquets, in accordance with the hotel’s standards and financial goals.
Key expectations of this role
- Preparing and supervising daily mise en place and ensures that all sections are supplied with fresh and high quality products based on anticipated business levels.
- Maximising the effectiveness of associates by developing each of their skills and abilities through the appropriate training, coaching and mentoring.
- Consistently maintains established standards across the department through leading by example and quality control.
- Intuitively overseeing preparations, cooking times and dish presentations of the Chef de Parties, Demi Chef de Parties and Commis Chefs.
Profile
- The ability to demonstrate the development of people effectively.
- Proven culinary skills in an upscale hotel environment.
- The ability to build strong relationships with the floor team of the Mirror Room.
- A good understanding of leading and developing people effectively.
- A thorough knowledge related to food hygiene and standards.
