Purpose:
As a Mechanical Shift Engineer at Smart Managed Solutions, you will be responsible for ensuring all environmental conditions and critical building systems are maintained to the highest standard throughout.
To carry out PPM tasks and reactive and breakdown works to all Mechanical systems within the site. Engineers must be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge of HVAC, Hot & Cold-Water Systems & Generators which will include the ability to fault find using the production of graphical information and the utilisation of current alarm data. Basic electrical knowledge would be desirable.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Complete routine PPM on all mechanical plant in accordance with Site task schedules and asset lists.
Manage reactive tasks throughout the building and proactively highlight areas where improvements can be made. Reactive calls should also include concessionary stores and fabric-related items.
Address plant faults and defects swiftly to maintain plant in serviceable order at all times.
Maintain suitable spares to facilitate both maintenance and reactive works. Provide parts lists and estimated timescales for carrying out remedial works.
Complete all relevant paperwork regarding reactive and breakdown works and pass it without delay to the Contract Administrator.
Prepare and use Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks undertaken, ensuring safe working practices are maintained at all times.
Develop good working relationships with all members of Smart Managed Solutions staff, subcontractors, and client representatives.
Promote a safe and healthy working environment, including the consistent wearing of uniform and PPE.
Present the professional image of Smart Managed Solutions to clients at all times.
Maintain all plant rooms under the responsibility of Smart Managed Solutions in a clean and tidy condition, ensuring they remain locked at all times.
Supervise and monitor subcontractor works whilst they are on site undertaking maintenance.
Action assigned tasks and ensure they are completed as appropriate.
Complete directed tasks with the appropriate level of H&S awareness and implementation.
Monitor awareness of and compliance with contractual KPIs and SLAs.
Update the Computer-Based Maintenance System, e.g. Maximo, ensuring PPM and reactive tickets are closed out with accurate data captured.
To operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with Smart Manged Solutions Quality, Health & Safety procedures and client requirements (or approved client system)
Education and Training:
Formally trained in a mechanical engineering discipline (e.g. HVAC, Plumbing) to City and Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 2
