About us:

The Education & Students Delivery Team is part of Digital Solutions within the IT Directorate and plays an important role in delivering Kings Strategy 2030 ambitions through digital change.

We partner with colleagues across Student & Academic Services, our faculties and other professional services directorates, including Kings Digital and the Transformation Office, to lead the delivery of technology-enabled solutions that improve the student and academic experience and support Kings strategic priorities.

Our work spans a diverse range of digital initiatives and change, from enhancing core student systems to delivering new digital capabilities that enable innovation across education and student services.

We bring together people, technology and expertise to deliver change that makes a lasting and positive difference to our students and staff, working collaboratively across teams and organisational boundaries.

About the role:

We work within a Scaled Agile (SAFe) environment and are looking for an experienced delivery professional who brings a pragmatic and collaborative approach, with a strong focus on value delivery. While experience of SAFe would be valuable, we would also welcome applications from experienced, results-driven technical Project Managers who are interested in making the transition to Agile and SAFe ways of working.

Youll have significant experience of delivering initiatives through the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and be comfortable working in complex technical environments. Youll have the tenacity and resilience to navigate complexity, bringing structure and clarity where there is ambiguity.

Youll be a confident and effective stakeholder manager, able to build strong relationships and communicate clearly. Youll be driven, proactive and outcomes-focused, with the ability to build momentum, remove obstacles and enable teams to perform at their best.

Strong risk and issue management will be central to your approach. Youll proactively identify risks and potential issues early, assess their impact, and take action to address them before they become barriers to delivery.

Above all, youll bring leadership, a strong sense of ownership and a commitment to delivery excellence, with a focus on delivering outcomes that enhance the experience of our students and staff.

This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

About you:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

1. Education to degree standard and/or equivalent qualifications / experience
2. Recognised Project Management Certification or Agile Delivery certification e,g, Prince2 Practitioner, APMP PMQ, SAFe Certified Scrum Master
3. Experienced at providing expertise managing delivering value with a diverse team
4. Significant experience of managing, inspiring, engaging and motivating a team, using interpersonal skills to achieve excellent results
5. Ability to identify and manage priorities, whilst considering the needs of a diverse range of stakeholders
6. Excellent presentation skills and the ability to communicate confidently, articulating ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
7. Significant experience of working with third parties to deliver IT Solutions

Desirable criteria

1. ITIL Foundation qualifications
2. Line management of other Project Managers
3. Additional desirable domain experience as listed in the role advertisement, likely to be immediately relevant to the role
