Outstanding teacher required for unique hospital setting based mainly at King’s College Hospital School. Should be able to teach across the age range (KS1 – KS4)* see below.

The Maudsley and Bethlem is an OFSTED outstanding Hospital School with sites in Beckenham (Bethlem) Camberwell (Maudsley and King’s). We work with pupils aged 4 – 19 who are patients of the Maudsley and Bethlem psychiatric hospitals and patients at King’s College Hospital. The pupils come from local, regional, national areas and beyond. We support pupils’ continued learning and their successful reintegration. We complement the hospitals’ focus on recovery by seeking to minimise the future impact of admission.
You will be required to work at King’s college Hospital School, Camberwell, although flexibility is required to work at all parts of the school.
* In hospital schools we work with children across the age range. Flexibility is key. You would be responsible for teaching mostly KS1 to KS4 with the main focus on English and other subjects to complement the existing skills of the staff and needs of the pupils.
You will take on a school liaison role with the hospital service based at the King’s site.

· is passionate about learning and teaching pupils;

· can motivate and lead pupils in learning;
· has proven good teaching across the curriculum;
· has experience of helping pupils overcome barriers to learning;
· is committed to working in partnership with students, parents, staff and other professionals;
· can work well in a team and show initiative;
· will prepare some pupils to reintegrate back to mainstream education;
· has experience of teaching either in a mainstream or special school.
