Caretaker
A welcoming Primary School in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea is seeking a dependable and hardworking Caretaker to join its premises team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work and takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe and secure environment for pupils, staff and visitors. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the school site is maintained to an exceptionally high standard throughout the year.
Working alongside the Premises Manager, you will carry out daily opening and closing procedures, complete routine building inspections and respond promptly to maintenance requests across classrooms, offices and communal areas. You will undertake minor repairs, monitor the condition of the site and ensure all facilities remain safe, clean and operational.
The role includes maintaining external grounds, supporting planned preventative maintenance, assisting contractors on site and preparing rooms for assemblies, performances, parents' evenings, educational events and community activities. You will also move furniture and equipment, receive deliveries and ensure the school environment always reflects the high standards expected by the school community.
Health and safety will form a key part of your responsibilities, including carrying out routine safety checks, monitoring security systems and reporting any issues requiring specialist attention.
The successful candidate will possess strong practical skills, excellent organisational abilities and a proactive approach to maintaining a welcoming learning environment.

Requirements
Previous caretaking, maintenance or facilities experience desirable
Good practical maintenance and repair skills
Knowledge of health and safety procedures
Excellent organisational skills
Ability to work independently and use initiative
Reliable, flexible and professional approach
Commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment
