Job Title: Lecturer in Electrical Installation

Salary: £33,429 to £46,618 per annum + £5,000 market supplement depending upon skills and experience

Contract Type: Full-Time (36 hours per week, 52 weeks per year)

About the Role

We are expanding our provision of technical education with brand-new, industry-standard facilities opening in 2026, offering state-of-the-art workshops and classrooms for our Electrical Installation programmes. As part of our growth, we are seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Electrical Installation to join a supportive team and help train the next generation of skilled tradespeople.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Assessment: Prepare, deliver, and assess engaging practical workshop sessions and theoretical classroom lessons across EAL and City & Guilds Electrical Installation courses.

Student Support & Progression: Conduct academic progress reviews, student inductions, and tutoring to ensure learner retention, achievement, and readiness for industry or higher education.

Curriculum & Workshop Management: Maintain high standards of health, safety, and workshop organization, while developing schemes of work, lesson plans, and digital learning resources.

Recruitment & Guidance: Participate in open evenings, applicant interviews, and recruitment events to guide prospective students.

Key Requirements

Qualifications: Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation (or equivalent) and GCSE English/Maths at Grade C/4 or equivalent.

Experience: Proven hands-on industry experience within electrical installation. Teaching, training, or workplace assessing experience is desirable.

Teacher Training: A Level 5 teaching qualification (DET/PGCE) is welcomed. If you do not hold one, the College will fully fund and support you to achieve it on the job.
