Long Term Futures are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hammersmith & Fulham to recruit a Reception SEN Teaching Assistant for an ASAP start. The role will involve supporting children with additional needs within a Reception classroom, providing a mixture of 1:1 support, small group interventions and general classroom assistance. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to help pupils develop their communication, social interaction, independence and engagement with learning.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs
- Supporting children with autism, speech and language needs and developmental delays
- Delivering targeted Early Years and SEN interventions
- Supporting communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
- Encouraging learning through play and continuous provision
- Supporting transitions, routines and positive behaviour
- Helping pupils develop independence and confidence
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for someone who:
- Has experience working within Early Years, Reception or SEN
- Is confident supporting children with additional needs
- Is warm, patient and able to build positive relationships
- Understands the importance of play-based learning and child development
- Is proactive and actively engages with children throughout the day
- Has strong communication and teamwork skills
Experience supporting autism or speech and language needs would be particularly beneficial.
