Senior Group Accountant | Energy Services | Central London (Hybrid) | £70,000 - £75,000

Robert Half is partnering with a leading energy services company , delivering integrated solutions to a broad client base. The business has a turnover of several hundred million pounds and is part of a large European group, giving access to the career progression and resources of a multinational, while keeping finance closely connected to the business, with broad exposure and genuine commercial influence.

This isn't just a reporting role. You'll take ownership of the audit, statutory accounts, and technical accounting, while also gaining commercial exposure - looking at the sales pipeline, contributing to FP&A, working closely with leadership on budgets, and business partnering across the company. About the Position

As a Senior Group Accountant, you'll be at the heart of the business, driving accurate financial reporting while shaping key commercial decisions across the group. This is a high-impact role where your insights will influence strategy, working closely with both finance and operational teams. Day-to-day, you'll:

• Support the delivery of group financial planning and forecasting processes, coordinating with multiple stakeholders across the business.
• Oversee the preparation of full Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports, ensuring accuracy and readiness for review by external auditors.
• Lead the production of monthly Management Accounts, including detailed variance analysis, executive/board reporting, and reporting to corporate stakeholders.
• Collaborate across Finance, including Risk & Control, to design, implement, and monitor internal controls and financial processes.
• Challenge and improve existing finance processes where necessary, maintaining a robust internal control environment.
• Lead and support projects that impact Finance processes, ensuring controls are embedded throughout any process changes.
• Act as a key liaison during internal and external audit reviews, supporting quarterly analytical reviews and the annual audit process.
• Contribute to the development of team members, ensuring staff are trained and building capability within the Finance function.

What we're looking for

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years post-qualified experience (likely qualified in 2023 or earlier).
• Currently an Audit Manager or a recent ex-auditor now working in a group finance or technical role.
• Strong technical foundation and experience working with complex or multinational organisations.
• Confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships across the business.
